Class discussion - NAS, OECD, WEF, Netcaucus, etc

Discussion of stovepiping, vertical/horiz. integration.
Convergence - three types. 1) Convergence of cable, wireless, telecom, Internet. 2) cable can now sell to people on tv, phone, internet. 3) Computers are the network, grid computing, user has all access.

VoIP - vios, fiber and copper lines, they cut the copper b/c it is the old technology, telecom claims it is to reclaim money.

Mesh network - don't need stations as often b/c devices are talking to each other.

Webcast debate - some legislation to give youtube more control. Broadcast treaty, no extra right for simply putting it on the airwaves. EU trying to make it so WIPO treaty.

Energy conservation - is running the a/c at home less energy than driving to work.
